Lisbon’s Rossio Station The Perfect Way To Visit Sintra
There is now no excuse for travelers to Lisbon to miss Sintra, Portugal. Sintra, a World Heritage site which is just outside of Lisbon, is easily reachable now that Lisbon’s most central station, Rossio Station, is once again opened.
Lisbon’s Rossio Station had been closed for almost three years while it was undergoing repair. The façade is still in the Neo-Manueline style, and the interior has been developed with a more modern touch. Located in Rossio, the station provides the simplest way for travelers to get from Lisbon to Sintra.
If you are traveling to Lisbon and would like to visit Sintra, take the Metro to Restauradores. Rossio Station is located between Rossio (central) and Restauradores, so just walk along Avenida Liberdade once you exit.
In the summer Lisbon can be extremely hot, and Sintra is an ideal escape into the magical, storybook-like mountainous village of Sintra. If you travel from Lisbon, it is about 45 minutes from Rossio Station.
